Reliable positioning of the screw

The special lead-in thread at the screw tip of the EVO PT®  enables automatic centering of the screw in the screw hole. This results in a stable assembly process during initial assembly and helps with hole position tolerances or misaligned components. The EVO PT® also easily and reliably finds the thread pitch during repeat assembly. This means that line-integrated, fully automatic repeat assemblies can be realized.

In terms of design, even a small counterbore depth is sufficient when using the EVO PT®. This means that less installation depth is required. In addition to simplified assembly, the EVO PT®'s lead-in thread creates a uniform load on the thread flanks and stress distribution under the screw head when assembled.
 

Less variety of parts and reliable assembly

The innovative thread forming process of the EVO PT® results in an installation torque during the screw-in process which is almost independent of the installation depth. This means that a uniform tightening torque can be used even with different installation depths. This results in a reduction in the variety of parts per assembly - one screw, one tightening torque!

A standardized tube design can already be used during project planning. The use of the EVO PT® therefore offers a high standardization potential and support for “carry-over parts strategies”. Optimum utilization of the low installation torque creates large torque windows, which result in increased assembly reliability and, with simultaneous compensation of process fluctuations, lead to reliable and reproducible screw connections.

EJOT EVO CALC® – Digital services for optimized components

The EVO CALC® digital prognosis program for preliminary design of connections with the EVO PT®  screw makes it possible to calculate torques, preload forces and failure mechanisms. In addition to the analytical preconception of thread-forming screw connections in thermoplastics, the user also has access to individual, FEM-supported component optimization. This reduces time-consuming component tests to a minimum. As a result, the use of EVO CALC®  can already realize time and cost savings in the development phase. 

CAE services - component optimisation and individual design engineering assistance

We also support you during the development phase with our CAE services. With the help of innovative calculation and simulation tools we estimate the behaviour and the effect of our fastening elements on your component under various loads and then give you the respective recommendation. It is possible to calculate the clamp load relaxation of individual screw joints and also to analyse the behaviour of the complete assembly. More...
