Collaborative partnerships with suppliers are essential for EJOT's success.
Our customers expect top performance from us. This is why we set a high standard for the quality and service of our suppliers. As part of value creation and the supply chain, they are essential factors in our success. 
We consider our suppliers as partners with whom we would like to co-operate faithfully and pragmatically in the long term.
For EJOT the long-term availability of the materials and raw components used, as well as open, timely communication about any changes that may arise, is the essential basis for a working customer-supplier relationship.
This includes, among other things, information about raw materials and substances processed for IMDS, REACH and other substance blacklists. (Material Compliance)

EJOT Material Compliance requirements for suppliers:

Material Compliance (MC) denotes the compliance with environmental and material-related specifications resulting from international laws, standards, directives (REACH, RoHS, conflict minerals, etc.) in addition to customer and market requirements.
Noncompliance could result in consequences like regulatory offence procedures, product recalls, and loss of customers and markets.

Sustainability requirements for suppliers

Environmental requirements 

Pursuant to the common responsibility for the environment, the supplier is required to set up and maintain an environmental management system according to DIN EN ISO 14 001. The presence of an ISO 14 001 certificate is included in the supplier rating. The check of environmentally important elements can be part of an audit by EJOT. 
Suppliers without a certificate according to DIN EN ISO 14001 or EMAS Directive are required: 
  • to use a documented environmental management system 
  • to have an environment protection programme 
  • to know the environmental laws and the directives and regulations to be applied, to follow them, to be informed about future changes and to adapt to them 
  • to know its environmental aspects and effects, to document them, to measure the significant aspects and to derive an improvement programme out of them 
  • to carry out adequate training of employees on environmentally important issues 
  • to take environmental considerations into account during research and development, planning of processes and production. 


Energy requirements

To embrace the sustainable use of resources, energy efficiency is an essential component of the conservation of resources. Systematic energy management according to DIN EN ISO 50 001 is a practical instrument by which energy efficiency can be increased across a business on an ongoing basis.
